Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Hello,
I'm new to this forum.
I was wonder what your opinions are about the best rooms at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge-- the south, the north or the tree camp lodges.
The photos on the websites always look quite stunning but I've heard that the rooms can be quite different.
-- would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks!

I've been told (by the staff) that the tree camp rooms are a little smaller and more rustic than the north and south camps, but didn't get to see for myself.
What do you use to qualify rooms as 'the best'?

When we were there a year ago the tree camp lodges weren't an option without a large group. The south and north from the exterior looked identical. I believe we were in the south lodges (the other side was closed due to limited number of guests) but the rooms and views were stunning.

Some rondavels in the South Camp has slightly better views into the crater than the North Camp but they are the same. Bath tubs, fireplaces in bedroom, big showers.
The Tree Camp lounge area is the place where the famous Crater Lodge pictures were taken for marketing! As the previous posts suggest, the rooms are smaller so I prefer the South Camp if it is just for the wife and I.
If the weather is good, the outside lounge area of the main lodge also has good views when you sit outside.
If you have a group, the Tree Camp is better since you have a separate dining and lounge.
