last minute questions for cape town and sabi sabi

Leaving in 10 days and very excited. Going on safaris in the morning and afternoons, is there anything else around sabi sabi to see? or just stick to safaris. Booked sightseeing trips to the winelands and the sights in Cape town. Booked La Columbe for dinner, have 4 more nights to book, any recommendations? would like a restaurant outside of cape town overlooking the water for one night.
Are there any flea markets, farmers markets to go to in Cape Town or in the surrounding area, or on our way to the winelands? Is there a popular shopping street. Where would I find crafts that are made in Africa??

thanks for your help
carol

You're going to be in both the Johannesburg and Cape Town areas?

Hi Carol

La Colombe is amazing - good choice! RE Restaurants, Im not sure how far outside of Cape Town you mean but Blue Peter on the West Coast has an amazing view or you can choose a Camps Bay Restaurant overlooking the Palm Lined Beachfront. For the Grand Cafe you would need to reserve. Personal favourites are Cafe Caprice and Baysude Cafe.

With regard to Farmers markets every Saturday morning you have the Biscuit Mill in Woodstock and both Saturdays and Sundays you have the Bay Harbour market in Hout Bay.

Crafts can be found in the red shed at the Waterfront or at the Green Shed. You can also find Crafts along the road to Hout Bay from Camps Bay.

Have a Fabulous time un Cape Town

Best Regards

At Sabi Sabi you'll have the opportunity of taking a hike between breakfast and lunch. They also offer a brilliant tour of the community after the morning safari. If you are into seeing modern tribal culture the tour id fascinating. Otherwise the lodges have fantastic facilities where you can chill with a book, cocktail and binos. When I was last there they flew in a helicopter to collect a group of golfers who then spent the day golfing at Leopard Creek, arguably the worlds most exclusive course. I was jealous!

Cape Town, Greenmarket square has a great flea market.. everything African with the occassional made in China replica.

mhkonzo - saying nothing of value except I wonder if myrphy17 really knows where they are going. Is it sabi sabi near Kruger which is the only one I can find, or, is there another one near CT, or, is the name "sabi sabi" wrong?

Their reply(?) "Will only be at the airport in johannesburg". I suppose answers the question. They are not going to sabi sabi near JNB/Kruger. So there is another sabi sabi near CT or, they have the name wrong? If they can not communicate that with us, how can we help?

Have I missed something here??? Whatever, not worth the time and bandwidth I've spent on it just now !!!!

regards - tom

Gotcha Tom, no I understood that she had planned to be in two destinations, 1) Sabi Sabi and was asking if she should attempt anything else while there, or simply do the safari activity. 2) Cape Town and wanted to know what she should do down there.

I gathered from her comment that JNB will be a transitory stop rather than an over night.

Cheers and merry merries .
