Travel during Ramadan

I posted this message by accident in the European section, so now I'll post it in this section where it should have been from the start! Hope someone can answer....

We are two women planning on visiting Morocco this year in Oct. That will be in the middle of Ramadan. Has anyone traveled during Ramadan? Will it impact us on what we want to see and do? Should we go before Ramadan if we can?

We traveled, my sister and I, to Egypt during Ramadan this past October. If you could travel another time, I would. Shops and museums closed early, usually after 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Some would reopen after breaking fast but it was after dark and we would not get out much then as everyone was have a really big party that lasted well into the night. I don't know about Morocco but as for as Egypt, I would plan for another time if I could.
