Travel Agency Recommendations?

Does anyone have a great travel agency they'd like to recommend for South Africa?

We're first-timers looking to do Cape Town, winelands, and safari, with possible Victoria Falls add-on if time allows. I'd like to book through an agency so that all of the transportation is taken care of.

I love the itineraries / accommodations Abercrombie & Kent offer, but am looking to go a little bit cheaper.

Please let me know if you have suggestions, thanks!

The agent who did our Namibia planning is now based in SA - despite the name of her company she does South Africa as well and did a great job for us in Namibia

If in the States and wish to use a US-based Travel Operator you can consider:

Africa Travel - Los Angeles
African Portfolio - Connecticut
Eyes on Africa - Chicago
Premier Tours - Phila suburb
Fish Eagles - Houston
Solaris - Colorado

If you like the A&K itinerary/routing, you can ask them to quote on it. Otherwise, send individual emails to each detailing:
- when you wish to travel
- number of travelers (if children, their ages as discounts might apply)
- areas of interest - cities, safari, cultural, etc.
- type of accommodations - hotels, lodges, tented camps, etc.
- estimated budget*

*You don't have to be specific, but at least they won't offer/quote higher than you're willing to spend assuming yours is within reason; can't get a champagne trip with a beer budget!

Many of the above can assist with international air flights, unless you can do better on your own. Or if using Frequent Flyer miles.

Good luck!

We were very happy with local (SA) agent Tanya Kotze of Africa Direct. All arrangements including several flights and transfers went off without a hitch.
