Transfers at Johannesburg Airport

Will be traveling from Singita to Johannesburg and will be arriving at 3PM. Our connection back to the United States is 6PM that same day. I know we have to collect our bags and recheck onto our international flight which is most likely in another terminal. Is this enough time or should we just stay in Johannesburg and leave the next day? I know that South African Air states you should be there 3 hours before to check in for international flights.

that should be enough time, the walk from domestic to international doesn't take long, and the Singita plane is small so not a lot of luggage to wait for.

More than sufficient time. Domestic/International terminals are a short walk from one another.

It depends on which airline you are flying from Singita to Johannesburg. I flew from Sabi Sands via Federal Air, which is in a separate terminal, way away from the International/Domestic terminals, and Federal Air personnel takes passengers back to the main terminals on a van. If you are on Federal Air, they do not keep very precise times of departures/arrivals, so I would double check the airline you are on.
Enjoy your trip!

You should be fine ..... as the poster mentioned, you will arrive via Fed Air in a seperate terminal. They will drop you off at the JNB terminal with enough time to connect to check in etc etc., Just ensure with your TA or whoever that the flight arrives at 3PM no later than say, 4 PM

Agree. It will take all of five minutes to collect your luggage at Federal Air. We stayed an extra night and it was a total waste.
