Transfer to Marrakesh after evening arrival into Casablanca

Hi - So I know that the train is the easiest way to get from Casablanca airport to Marrakesh, and I always go with the most cost-effective public transportation option when possible. However, I will be arriving in Cas after a very long multiple layover trip from the US (arrival around 5:30pm), and even if the trains are still running then, I'm not too excited about taking a multi-hour train trip after over 24 hour travel in coach, and am not too jazzed about spending the night in Cas.

I only have limited time and would like to head straight to Marrakesh that night in the least painless way possible without breaking the bank. Is a flight on Air Morocco later that night the best option? If I had an extended trip, I'd just overnight in Cas and head out the next day, but I'm really eager to get to Marrakesh and start a much needed vacation the very next morning, just chilling out. :)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions - I haven't been on this board in years but it has always been so helpful in the past.

Train, plane, bus, or walk are your options. Call Royal Air Maroc, or look on the web, to see if there's a flight that evening.

I understand not wanting to spend a night in Casa, but if the flight is too expensive, consider a night in Rabat instead. Better hotel options, and more laid back than Casa.

Second thursday's opinion. Try the hotels across from the Rabat train station. Hotel Balima is popular with the Peace Corps volunteers (when the Peace Corps is paying). We didn't stay there, but it "doesn't double as a brothel."

Nice to see you back. I greatly enjoyed your trip reports to Ethiopia and Iran, back in the day. Where've you been?

Thanks everyone! And thanks Fra_Diavolo for the kind words! I have done some big trips over the past few years (Tunisia, DRC/Republic of Congo/some short Central American trips) but life got in the way of trip reports. I also swapped out international travel last year for living part time in Colorado to snowboard as much as possible :)
