Township Tours...

Hey everyone I'm heading to Africa soon and I will be hanging in Cape Town for about 7 days... I was wondering if anyone would recommend a good township tour operator.

Thanks

We used Inkululeko Tours - they were fabulous - highlight of our year in SA - search Google and their website should come up. We took the half day tour and it was great!

I've not used him but he is very helpful on this forum:

I did a combination Township and Robben Island tour with Hylton Ross. They are reputable and have been around for years. They are a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion. Note if you want to see Robben Island prebook your tickets (or tour) weeks in advance.

I did not go on a township visit with Selwyn (the guide ekscrunchy linked) when I was in South Africa, but spending time with him and hearing about his township project was amazing. His insight into the area's history, politics, culture, etc. was amazing, and I am confident a township visit with him would be a moving and educational experience. He's posted a lot on the differences between a township visit and a township tour, and I strongly recommend reading these before you finalize your plans. If you do a search, you should be able to find these posts.

My apologies for not being able to come with another adjective besides amazing. What can I say? It's Monday, my brain hurts.
