August/September are good months to visit - between school holidays and good weather!

Johannesburg is not a tourist city but the following is definitely worth a visit:

Gold Reef City - a gold mine theme park. See www.goldreefcity.co.za - a half day trip

Soweto - See www.tourismjohannesburg.co.za/soweto.htm - a half day visit

The Pilanesberg game reserve and Sun City - After the Kruger National Park, this park is the next biggest in SA with the big five animals all there. It is next to the Sun City casino complex where the Sun City million dollar gholf tournament is played. The architecture of the Lost City hotel is awesome! This is a day visit. About 2 hours' drive from Jhb. See http://www.wildnetafrica.com/themap/...ionalpark.html

See www.gauteng.net for general tourist information about the Gauteng province (that includes Jhb) and www.southafrica.net for general tourist information and good links about travel in SA.

If you are more specific of what your interests are, I may able to help more.
Hope this helps, however!
