Tortilis Camp in Kenya

I would like to know what was your experience with this camp? Is it worthy for a game viewing? Also what about accommodation, food, staff, and game drives?

We stayed at Tortilis just about a year ago and it was truly spectacular. The camp is set just outside of Ambosli National Park and has spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding areas. The tents are very nice with fantastic decks, mahogany beds, comfortable chairs and a full bathroom with shower. The tents are situated in such a manner so that you do not see the other tents around you. The have a nice pool which is very relaxing to sit by after your mornig game drive. The great house is open aired and has a huge dining room and a bar and lounge. The owners are Italian and the food was spectacular--we had fresh fish, chiken and pastas and wonderful breakfasts and lunches. The staff were very accomodating if someone did not like one of the menu choice. The manager and the rest of the staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We did not do any game drives with their staff as we were travelling with Abercrombie and Kent and we went out with their guides. Overall Tortilis was agreat camp--the only negative was that there was this little Jack Russell Terrier which really does not like men! Oh well--better him then one of the hippos! Have a wonderful trip!
