To Tel Aviv Airport

We're going on an Israel tour during the first half of May.
We've added a day to the end in Tel Aviv.

The day we leave we have an 8:20 flight. What time should we be at the airport?
Is there any value in checking out of our hotel the morning before the flight, checking our luggage in the hotel while we spend our last day in Tel Aviv and sleep in a hotel near the airport?
If we don't sleep near the airport how long should we count on it taking to get to the airport from Tel Aviv in the morning?

Thanks.

8:20AM I'm assuming?

Easy question -- stay at your hotel in TLV.

First off, there aren't true "airport hotels" near TLV. The closest hotels are 10-15 minutes away.

Second, the airport is only 20-30 a minute taxi ride from the city center depending where exactly you'e staying (I assume you'd be okay with springing for a private taxi to save time/hassle at that hour). And there won't be any traffic in the wee hours of the morning.

So, it makes no sense to pack, move to a new hotel, and unpack again -- just to save 20-30 minutes less the 10-15 minutes it'll take to get from a hotel near-ish the airport to the airport.

The recommended time to arrive at the airport is 3 hours ahead, given the security at TLV. You can cut it closer but most will probably want to play it safe. So, you're probably looking at leaving your hotel at 4:45 or 5 AM. Enjoy!

LAX,

Thanks. I suspected this after searching hotels on Google Maps. And 3 hours before flight I also suspected.

Private taxis vs. shared taxis, or sheruts. https://www.touristisrael.com/taking...n-israel/6670/
