To Fodor Editors
Please explain why you have eliminated my two posts; the first was a fully attributed article from the NYTimes on the election in Kenya and the second post wondered what had become of the first post. I am beginning to think the worst, and considering what I ought to do about it.

my guess is copyright infringement
Would you think it fair if you set up your own site, say www.jess.com and merely cut-and-pasted interesting articles from other publications?
If you are considering what to do about it, you may want to buy a basic treatise on copyright infringement.

Jess215, I don't believe that you understand the basics of copyrights. It's not ok to reprint, in any form, a copyrighted work, regardless whether you provide attribution, unless you have the explicit permission of the copyright owner. You are allowed to use brief excerpts -- for example, when providing a link. And it makes no difference if the linked site is a free or a paid site.

When I preview this reply the link appears twice, for some reason but when I click on the SECOND http, I get there. I do not know what I will see when I hit "post" however.

A couple of more recent articles have been run since, from Reuters, and there was an article in today's magazine secion, featuring the political rivalry (with anti-U.S. overtones) in the north - in particular, the Islamic challenger to Joseph Lemasolai Lekuton. The incumbent, by the way, is the author of Facing the Lion, Growing up Maasai on the African Savanna, - a book I enjoyed.
