Tired of reading about everybody else's itineraries...

I would love to do this one in September, 2005:

Mala Mala (3)
Simbambili (3)
Joburg (1)
Kwando Lagoon (3)
Kwando Kwara (3)

However, if I could get an affordable charter from Sabi Sand to Botswana, I would skip Joburg, or save it until the end of the trip. May be doing this one solo, but I will not be deterred from my love of Africa!

MZ, that is a killer itinerary. Wow. If you just added Vumbura and Jacks Camp heaven could not compare...

tashak,
Oh, allllright, I'll go to Little Vumbura.

I guess I'm ready to submit my dream itinerary to the forum for comment.

And, I mailed you at yahoo but it was returned. My email is:

tashak,
Bert at Fisheagle has suggested that Duba Plains and Little Vunbura game drives are in the same area and I should eliminate Little Vumbra....any comment?

Are you going in flood season?

I had assumed you had included LV as a water camp but if you're including it as a game drives camp I'd omit it too.

Jack's Camp, on the other hand, is absolutely like NO OTHER and I'd bend over backwards to include it on any itinerary I put together.

Kavey,
Jacks looks great...I guess it's not on my list because I live in the southwest; about an hours drive east from here is the Anza Borrego Desert state park. Going west, the Pacific is about the same drive time. Southern califonia and the south african coast both have mediterranean climates, so while the Cape looks beautiful it's not high on my list either.

To paraphrase James Carvell, "It's the animals Shirley."

Jack's is still not like anywhere else...

And we spent one entire game drive with the brown hyenas and another entire morning with the meerkats running around our feet. And there were still lots of zebras and flamingoes too...

Kavey,
I added Jack's to my dream list on the other thread, you are so right, it's NOT Anza Borrego. Would you take a look on the other thread?
Thank you again for giving me the benefit of your opinions. There's nothing like experience.

In terms of experience I do want to stress that i have taken only two trips to Botswana and visited 8 Botswana Camps, plus one WS in South Africa and a few camps in Namibia.
When I give you my opinions I can't tell you how Duba Plains compares, or how Kwetsani is compared with Jacana...
But if anything I do tell you helps, that's great!

Roccco,
How much do you think an affordable charter from Sabi Sand to Botswana would be? Sounds a lot more appealing than having to route back to joburg.

Ericka,

I really have no idea, but for a couple sharing, I would guess about $500 per person. That is one question that a local tour operator would best be able to help you with.
