tipping in Zambia

I know there are a few of you leaving on Zambia trips in the next week or two and one thing that caught us off guard was that the banks there are only accepting the new "big head" currency from the US. If you are taking $5's, $10's, and $20's for tipping then you should request the new bills.

That's true anywhere overseas, as there are restrictions placed on overseas banks regarding repatriation of damaged bills. They usually won't bother and won't accept them, so your guides, shops, etc. won't take them, either.
