tel aviv hotels

On several trips, to visit family in Rishon Le Zion, my sister and I have stayed at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel, on Hayarkon, in Tel Aviv. We're thinking of looking into an alternate hotel, just to change the experience, but there are many negative reviews for Tel Aviv hotels in general. We need a hotel with nice public spaces/lobby. This is more important to us than the room size.

In the past, we enjoyed the extensive outdoor grounds & facilities at the Best Western, Ramat Gan. However, several years ago, the hotel and the rooms became so run down that we stopped staying there.

Any suggestions for a stay in June 2007 would be appreciated. Any recommendations for beach hotels in Hertzliya? We also have family near there. Thank you.

You do not write what your budget is. If money is not a problem, the best place to stay I think is the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv. NOT the Dan Panorama, which is also in the Dan chain, but the Dan hotel which is on the seafront.

Which Tel Aviv hotels got negative reviews and where?

Flame 123 - The negative reviews were on Trip Advisor. Sheraton Hotel & Towers: just OK. Intercontinental: business style, charmless.
Hilton: rude staff. Marina: generally very poor experiences reported.

My budget is not necessarily economy range, I guess I would describe it as flexible. It depends on my motivation for a certain property.

The Dan does get excellent write ups and I will check out the rates.
Thank you for responding. Travelottie

Hello Flame 123,

Was wondering if you had an opinion regarding the Mercure B & P Tel Aviv. We will be needing one night in TLV and want nice for not a lot of money. It has received pretty good reviews. As far as I can see it has King bed and very nice breakfast included for internet rate of $124 total including taxes. Your thoughts?? Thanks for the reply.

Have just read an article about several boutique hotels in Tel Aviv:

"Cinema" - http://www.travelbyclick.net/hotels/...cfm?HotelID=57
(Also good reviews on a hotels website, in Hebrew)

"De La Mer" -
http://www.hotels.co.il/hotelsmain/h...fm?hotelID=353
http://www.travelbyclick.net/hotels/...cfm?HotelID=30
(Mixed reviews on the above mentioned website)
