Outstanding news, but that wont help the poaching will it?

Sure it will! Now that there is no "legal" ivory available trafficking is much more dangerous and it certainly will have an impact.

Particularly as "re-labeling" (from illegal to legal) isn't an option anymore.

I am very positive that the poaching will decrease and the eles benefit! That has been the reason for all those petitions and writing, campaigning ...by people around the world. Those supporters of the ban were just supporting scientists who have delivered the facts.

The hope

This is fabulous news. I agree with you SV, that this is a very positive move that should reduce poaching. My other concern in all of this was that Tz would have badly mismanaged all the $$ from selling the "legal" ivory. That would have been a disaster rather than great opportunity for the country!

No doubt you would like to pay something towards the income of the anti-poaching unitts who have been cruelly deprived by this ludicrous result.

To bad if you are a Blue Fin Tuna, after all who would want to deprive the Japanese and many more of their Sushi?
