Tarangre tented accommodation

Can anyone advise as to which of the tented accommodations they would recommend in Tarangire Park. Would like the tent experience but with some comfort. Suggestions much appreciated

We stayed in Swala last June and just loved it!

Depending on how much you want to spend:

Tarangire River Camp
Kikoti Camp
Swala Camp
Oliver's Camp
Nomad's Camp
Treetops (treehouses)

all provide comfort

Seleucus
when are you travelling as Kikoti has been closed for about a month because of heavy rainfall
and recently Olivers had to shift its location for the same reason

Hi,

I've stayed at Naitolia which is a permanent tented camp and very comfortable. It is in the Tarangire Conservation area which is adjoining the Tarangire National Park

The dining/lounge area is very luxurious. The food was fantastic.

I really enjoyed the different varieties of birds that are there and I hope to revisit Naitolia in the near future with a good camera!!

Geelong,

I hope to be going in June 07. I have been in discussion with a number of local operators, but Sunny would be favourite at the moment. Many thanks to the advice so far

Seleucus, we stayed at Tarangire River Camp in June/06 and loved it. Very comfortable tents, great food, gorgeous location overlooking (dry in June) riverbed and friendly staff. Campfire each night before dinner. Only 3.5 km from park gate. We're planning to stay there again next year. Have a look at Eben's pictures of the River Camp: http://go-safari.com/Tarangire/RiverCamp.htm
