As someone who also did an April &quot;Rainy Season&quot; trip to Tz a couple years ago I enjoyed your report. It looks wonderful over there when it's so green and lush.

Great sighting with the caracal (after five safaris we have yet to see one), and the lion chasing the warthog was cool. Also the leopard in the tree ...

You were lucky with the rain if you only got one hour's worth, it rained almost every day we were there in April 2006. Also you got a great price compared to earlier in the year.

Sorry you didn't enjoy Ndutu, it's our favorite lodge because of the location but it's a bit rustic for some I guess.

Nice organization of the report with the calendar for dates. I am up to the tree climbing lion so far. Very lucky on that one.

That's great to have a relatively unusual animal for #1. You are right that Manyara is one of the few places people ususally see them. I've only seen Blue Monkeys in Manyara and there was a troop that stopped by Sopa Lodge at the Crater once.

I don't suppose the grasshopper lived to tell his side of that crazy tale.

I have just read your report on Ndutu lodge and couldn't agree with you more about the food. We stayed at seven different camps/lodges in March and the food was by far the worst at Ndutu and we are not picky eaters. I haven't completed my trip report yet with the Ndutu portion up next.

Bill &amp; Lynn - You were both very helpful when we were planning for our trip. Thanks again for the insights and for reading our report. The safari was by far our favorite adventure and we can't wait to go on another one (although it'll have to wait a while as we just had a baby!).

Raelond - :) good to know it wasn't just us. but like i said, we didn't go for the food so it was alright.

Thanks jnk. Great trip report and photos. I love the website layout because it tells a story, with the photos imbedded into your daily activities. The other photos are excellent as well. Thank you. I'll be in Tanzania next February/March, and enjoy living vicariously until I can get there.

I clicked on the &quot;bullies&quot; category, thinking it was a wildlife category, but instead found such an adorable photo title &quot;Pet Bed.&quot; That is so precious!

With Ndutu being the only game in town for that area, barring mobiles, maybe they aren't putting much effort into the food. I hope to go test out the cuisine someday.
