Tanzania - Masai Mara June 6-23, 2008
Tomorrow afternoon, 6/5 we go up to Birmingham to leave my late-in-life four-legged child, Penny a 12 1/2 YO mini-daschund, with my DH's neice & her husband. Then Friday morning 6/6, we finally leave B'ham for JRO & we meet up with our traveling companions from Pittsburg in Detroit.
I would be so much more excited if I were not just "plum worn out". ;-) But then I am not sure that I could stand to be much more excited.
I know that everything is in our bags; however, I can't remember exactly which bag or where in the individual bag that I put some things. Will find it all eventually. We managed to pack everthing in the duffels and backpacks and still come in under the 33 lb. limit (we have one small plane flight). DH was duly impressed.
Just read the "bush potty" thread this afternoon. I had not thought too much about this aspect what with camping, backpacking & living in varoius parts of the world, but I truly almost fell out of my chair laughing reading this thread.
Well off to the "land of nod" (I hope). Will return on 6/23, if not eaten by a lion or sat on by an ellie as most of our friends & family are worried that will happen.
Thanks to everyone for all of the useful, kind information & advise.
Best to all.
Linda

llorear,
Have a fantastic trip. Rest on the flights if you can, and you'll awake refreshed and ready for your safari when you land.
Where do you live? I'm curious because I live in Birmingham, and don't see too many posters here from AL.
Have a great time, and please post a report and photos when you return.
