TANZANIA!!!

Dear Forum Members,
I am planning to visit TANZANIA for 8 days with my family. Our main objective is Jungle Safari / Game Drives. We are not very adventurous and prefer a bit relaxed lifestyle.

Requesting the members and veterans to help me and guide me in planning this trip.

Looking forward to your support.

Very exciting.

If children are accompanying you, what are their ages?
What time of year do you plan to visit?

Those questions are important for best advice.

With a family it is likely you can have your own vehicle and guide just for your group. Then you can have a relaxed trip or any kind of trip you want.

In the typical Northern Circuit Tanzania safari, there is not much "jungle." It is more open plains with small stands of forest and heavy brush. But Arusha National Park does have thicker forests in which you can find the beautiful black and white colobus monkey. Arusha NP is a great place for your first day on safari because it is near your arrival point into TZ and offers a buffer day up front in case of luggage delays or flight delays.

Not very adventurous--you do not have to be to thoroughly enjoy Tanzania. All viewing done from a vehicle. Nice, comfortable accommodations, great food, time to relax most afternoons.

Depending on what time of year you are going, you could alter this.

1 Arusha National Park for the day
2 2.5 hour drive to Tarangire
3 Tarangire
4 4 hour drive to Ngorongoro Crater
5 morning visit to crater then drive 3-5 hours on a game drive to Serengeti
6 Serengeti
7 Serengeti
8 depart Serengeti by plane by to Kilimanjaro for your flight home.

Where you stay in the Serengeti depends on what time of year you are visiting.

There are lots of good agents for Tanzania. If you look at the many trip reports, you'll find a variety of agents have been used with great success.

Hi Atravelynn,

Thanks a lot for your feedback and guidance.

Kids are 13 and 11 yrs, both girls.

I did send mails to the tour agents in Tanzania and got reply from them with itinerary and quotes.
Regards
Rajiv

If you wish to post any of the itineraries and quotes, more advice can be provided, along with feedback on specific accommodations suggested.

What a fantastic family trip awaits.

Lake Manyara offers a 'jungle' experience that you could add to a N Circuit safari. Just drop Arusha Natl Park, or add a day
