Tangala Safari Camp, Nkorho, or Elephant Plains

I need suggestions for a budget-moderate camp for a couple nights in June. Any comments on Tangala, Nkorho, or Elephant Plains? Or any others. Must be reasonably priced and/or great special prices for June.

Hi Ella,

Nkorho-I have friends who stayed there(locals) and enjoyed it immensely-by the way, money is NO OBJECT for them and they went there. They are seasoned pros and taught me a lot. I think they have been to almost every safari lodge there is to see. Hope that helps. They are world travellers by the way!!!

Any other comments? Anyone been to Tangala?

I'll answer my own post. We went to Tangala Safari Camp and loved it. No electricity, but lanterns for light and wood stoves for hot water for showers. The food was excellent, saw lots of animals. For R899 (June 2003) I would highly recommend it.

I was at Djuma Vuyatela and we often encountered Nkorho vehicles. My ranger pulled out a map and showed the traversing areas of Djuma and the traversing areas of Nkorho and Nkorho had access to about 80% of the same land that Djuma did.

We passed by Nkorho and although I did not go inside the rooms, the place looked pretty nice. If you can get a good deal at Nkorho, I would say, by all means, that you should go.
