Taking my CPAP to Israel/Jordan

My upcoming trip to Israel with 3 days in Jordan is our first to the Middle East. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. It is very portable, compact & easy to travel with. I know I will have to get an adaptor plug. However, I understand security is much more thorough & strict there. Has anyone traveled to Israel with a CPAP and was there any difficulty taking it through security? Do I need a letter from my doctor or paperwork showing it is my prescribed CPAP machine?
Thanks for any help or advice.

I took my CPAP machine through Israel and Jordan, packed in my main luggage. I think it is a bigger problem to carry it on, which is what seems to arouse the most suspicion. There are enough of them around that it should not be a surprise to security screeners. I have never carried a doctor's letter or prescription.

Most CPAP machines (I have a ResMed) are dual voltage - you have to slide a switch to make it work in 220v places. I forgot to do this when last in Israel and promptly blew a fuse. Spent the next day wandering around Jerusalem looking for one. Assuming you remember to slide the switch, then all you need is a 2-pin adapter plug.
