Swim in Tel Aviv's Mediterranean in October?

We will be going to Israel Oct 27-Nov 11. Our first stop is Tel Aviv. Just wondering what the water temperature will be like at that time. I know the Med is cold in parts of Europe, but this is Israel so I've figured it would be much warmer. We've thought about driving south to Eilat at some point during our stay, but we may not have the time to do that.

Water cools off much more slowly than air, so you can see from this graph that the water is still quite warm in October:

Note that the bathing season will end after the Sukkot holiday - Oct 12 (you should visit after the holiday), but some of the Tel-Aviv beaches are open throughout the winter. You should NEVER swim at a beach where there is no lifeguard.

That would translate to about 75 degrees Fahrenheit which is doable.

Are you saying that there will still be beaches in Tel Aviv that have lifeguards at that time (approx. October 27-November2)? Yes, we have intentionally booked our trip for after Sukkot.

If you look at a map of Tel-Aviv you will see that the beach runs the entire length of the city. Each section of beach has a name and a lifeguard station, e.g. Frishman Beach, Banana Beach, Hilton Beach, etc. There are around 16 beaches in total. During the winter months only about six of the lifeguard stations remain open, daily until about 2 PM.
You can see a map of the beaches, information and recommendations here:
