Stormsriver Mouth

Considering a visit to Stormsriver next month while passing through the Garden Route.
Any info. on entrance levies etc. would be appreciated - I understand there is a park usage levy or something.
What we would like to do is visit stormsriver Mouth & suspension bridge and take a trip on the Spirit of Tsitsikamma.
My father walks with a stick and I would also welcome opinions as to the difficulty of the boardwalk approach.
Thanks

My husband and I were there a few months ago, in February. I can't tell you about the entrance fee -- we were visiting several of the national parks so we bought a Wild Card that covered them all.

The suspension bridge was closed for repairs, and may still be, so be sure to check that out before making plans. The walk to the bridge, and to the dock where you board the Spirit of Tsitsikamma is quite long, 30-45 minutes, and is not easy. I would think someone walking with a stick would need at least twice that amount of time. There are a couple of places to rest along the way (i.e. wide spots on the trail), but I don't remember whether there are benches; I think not. There are no handrails except in a couple of places. I don't think I would attempt it walking with a stick.

While we enjoyed the boat trip, it wasn't a "peak experience" or anything, so if you decide to give it a miss, I wouldn't worry about it.

The ocean views are really great from the area of the park near the restaurant. We enjoyed dolphin watching there, even more than we enjoyed the boat trip.

Thank you for the advice - I think we may just give it a miss this time.

Storms River Mouth is my idea of heaven.

Stop of on the way it is a 10 km detour from the N2, the entrance fee is 80 Rand per person, there is no need to walk to the bridge take lunch at the restaurant and enjoy the awesome views.
