Spending time in Israel.

Spending time in Israel - I'm planning to take a sabbatical starting on Feb. 1, 2010 and would like to spend about 4 weeks in Israel. I've been there several times, but not recently. Also, I'm not interested in touring the whole time. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I could arrange to do this?

If you are not interested in touring what exactly do you want to do? Please clarify your question - are you asking about accomodation, transportation, or what ?

Yes. Also, activities other than constant touring.

You will have to be much more specific about everything if you want to receive advice.

Hi

I'd like to help but have really no idea of what you are looking to do other than not constantly touring.

You might look at VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner) for listings of properties in various areas that can be rented by the week/month. Maybe you could put a couple of rentals together - one in Jerusalem, one on the coast, one down south or up in the Galilee... many options.

There are other sites with similar listings - google is your friend.

"...activities other than constant touring..."?? Two activities that fall into this category are:
- sleeping late
- eating out
The former is easy; if you are interested in the latter, I could be able to direct you, if I know what you have a liking for.
