Which lodge did you visit in the Sabi Sands? Was this your only visit? |
After two trips to the Sabi Sand, I will 'up the ante' this May and travel to Botswana in search of even bigger thrills. However, I would not trade my RSA experiences for anything. Watching a pride of lion devour a waterbuck on a moonless night was a visceral experience (albeit for the waterbuck, as well!).
Although the animals are habituated to the vehicles, there is a thrill in being so close to leopard cubs playing and falling, as they learn to drag 'carcasses' up a tree. The carcass in question was an old turtle shell. Moreover, I gained an even greater respect for their 'other world' beauty and value to this precarious world. Any exposure to these magnificent creatures changes you forever. Now, it's on to a wilder place...Botswana. It's all good! |
