Southern Tanzania Safari Tours Operators
 

Hi all,

I would like to have a 1-week safari tour in southern Tanzania, where there are less tourists. DO you have any recommendations on tour operators in that region, probably in Dar Es Salaam? Thanks.

Authentic Tanzania (David Barker) was who I used in 2009. They are well-established and also have their own seasonal camps in some of the parks.

We used ATR (Africa Travel Resource) for our trip. They were excellent. My trip report is posted.

TC, nice trip report. Do you know who was ATR's Tanzanian outfitter for your trip? ATR is a travel agency in the UK, so they should have someone "on the ground" there, even if you're traveling by plane between camps, etc.

ST; I don't believe they had "an outfitter" for our trip. We were booked directly with the camps by ATR and the camp managers looked after us throughout. Our trip wasn't a package, so there really wasn't the extra link.
