Hello Fodorites!! just returned yesterday- here are some photos I uploaded for a "quickie" album. full version and trip report some time in the future (1500 images to sort thru + that 4 letter word we all dread 'work', I must return to so I can finance my next adventure.) Wow! A lovely album!
Particularly love the mekoros at Jacana - talk about capturing the light perfectly!
And some really close encounters! Hope we'll get a trip report too?
Welcome home!

You have some beautiful pictures! I agree with Kavey about the mekoro image - lovely. It looks like you had a great trip. Look forward to reading your trip report. (I've been home since Saturday and haven't done one yet.)

A lovely taster" - you've got some great shots there. Please let me know what you used to bribed all those animals to pose for you! In my shots they always look the other way!

Azrat,
Really enjoyed your photos. Hope you write a trip report.
What kind of camera and lens did you use for most of your pictures?

azrat Oct 9th, 2004 09:31 AM

Brandywine; Nikon F3HP-Nikon 35-70mm-Nikon 200mm lenses. Warehouse club Fuji 100 and 400 iso film. F3hp Nikon is 'old school' ie; entirely manual, no autofocus,no autoadvance or rewind, manual shutter speed settings etc. Some photos also taken by my wife with Nikon Coolpix 885 Digital, 3megapix, 3x zoom writing to compact flash cards.
Nothing fancy, I didn't want to miss parts of my trip fumbling with photo equipment. Also used a cheap lightwieght (15oz) monopod on some low-light early/late day shots- monopod proved to be good 20usd investment. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Darn it...could not get through to the photos. Managed to get to the ofoto site, but said that page was not available...must have made a mistake. Will have another go later, but thanks for taking the time azrat. Really look forward to your trip report..we go in December.
