atravelynn- you are right about the "lucking out" for both. I have been meaning to add my comments to the "most expensive" list. Even though I didn't pay the Jack's price, I wouldn't pay that kind of money to stay there (just not me), but I would definitely pay for Mombo....if I could afford it. The animals were amazing. That splurge may truly have been a "once and a lifetime" thing. I hope you enjoy mt first attempt at photo posting.

Love that obscured wild cat. What’s funny is it looks like it could be a housecat in your garden, yet is such a rare finding.

Mating leopards—what luck! And right out in the open. Along with the other leopard shots, you really have an exhibit on that species.

Great Knob billed duck photo!

You caught the frisky zebras perfectly.

The yellow billed oxpecker shot is truly captivating. On a giraffe?

A bee-you-tee-ful collection of photos.

(I think we should triangle Dave Monks.)

atravelynn- Thank you so much for the compliments!! We came across the little wild cat while we were off road with some elephants and we said the same thing, that it looked like our old cat Puma. The mating leopards at Mala Mala ignored us competely and Legadema at Mombo acts like the movie star that she is. She is exquisite. Yes, the oxpecker is on the neck of a giraffe (I will add that to the caption).
Not sure about the whole Dave Monks response???
Thanks again.

So that's where your screen name comes from!

Your itinerary, with the private vehicle at Mombo, was really a great one for wildlife!

atravelynn - yep, I got Puma the cat as a companion for Scruffy the wonder dog. They were with me for 20+ years! You are correct about the itinerary, great for wildlife. I figured since I was the one footing the bill, I could choose where I wanted to go!! Am seriously thinking now about gorillas, I know you went to Rwanda, have you also been to Uganda?
