South African Travel Buddy over Mobile phone

Just came across this web site http://www.satravelbuddy.co.za
By joining this web site ($20 charge), you can have local friends who belong to eblockwatch.co.za and stay in touch with you everyday by sending helpful SMS text over your mobile phone. It seems all you need is a mobile phone, a local SIM card which you can buy at the airport on arrival and membership to satravelbuddy. You will also receive a local contact number of a buddy living in the area you are visiting just in case you need advice or help and an emergency no. for any help once in South Africa. Anyone going to South Africa willing to test this out??
