Funny you should raise the Tauck tour to SA as I was iscussing the itinerarty with friends just the other day. It is a decent SA itinerary and although I have never travelled with Tauck it appears that they have a significant history and are a reputable company.

I have been on Rovos Rail, it is a great travel experience reminicent of a bygone era where travel was relaxed, leisurely and a refined experience. I endorse their motto of being the finest train in the world. having said that my mother in law is a die hard blue train fan...for me their journey time is too fast and the train feels like a cigar tube: no windows open..
