sound and light show at the pyramids

Hi
I was planning to visit cairo in late august and wanted to see the sound and light show at the pyramids. i wanted to know the timings (english), ticket prices etc
There was a website available but the link does not work.
Please advise

I've seen it twice, the first time in English and the second in Arabic (which I do not speak). I enjoyed it much more the second time when I didn't understand the silly narration.

crazytraveller,

Just plan to be down by the pyramids a little after sunset. You can buy tickets when you arrive (I think I paid $26 a couple years ago but can't remember exactly). The English show is usually around 8:00PM in the summer. This web site will tell you all you need:

The last time I went (some time in this last year) the tickets were LE75 each I think. They can't be more than LE100 by now, can they? If you do it through AMEX or some hotel they will make some money on your ticket and provide transport which is pretty important as the taxi drivers waiting outside to take those that don't have a ride waiting for them will ask for twice or three times what the fee should be and then even try to take you somewhere so they can earn a commission off what you buy or eat after the show. I highly suggest you organize RT transportation for the show so you know how much you need to pay for that and you know you have someone waiting for you when it is over.

Have fun and enjoy.

Thanks you guys

What ticket pricing with the hotel (that includes RT + tickets) would be an absolute rip off . i would be living close to the pyramids. do the hotels usually arrange for RT

I'm sure the Le Meridian has an offer for RT and show tickets. I know the Mena House does too.

As far as what you might consider a rip off to be? That is up to you. Some people come out of the show thinking the LE75 for the show was a rip off, others love it enough to want to do it again and again.

I'm pretty cheap, and I live here, so I'm really not a good one to ask. I think if others tell you what they paid their hotel and if they thought it was a good deal or not, that is a better idea.

Remember if you are at one of these two hotels, you are paying in excess of $100 per night for your room, so drivers and other Egyptians will be making some assumptions about your ability to pay for these services. $100 may be more than they make in a month for a salary.
