Something Different

Hi Guys
This week I will be doing something completely different. I will be spending a couple of nights on a houseboat on the Chobe River. Not just a river cruise for a couple of hours but sleeping on the houseboat whilst cruising the River. This should prove to be a very nice add-on to any Botswana Safari/Vic Falls combination. I will give a full report when I return next weekend.

Yes, do report back on that. I've had that on my radar for awhile but never knew anyone who tried it. Looks very cool.
Enjoy!

Hi Harry
No, I will just be flying up to experience the houseboat. The Bots camps will be in January as I have to get back to the office.

Hi Sherry
I have been on houseboats on Lake Kariba before and the experience is really something out of this world. I am looking very forward to this one and as I said it is something that should be added into one's itinerary. I will keep you posted.
Thanks
Mark

Looking forward to your report. Have also done the Kariba houseboat and loved it and have wondered if the Chobe is as good. Is it the Ichobezi?
Anyway have fun and enjoy.

Hi Peggylou
Yes, it is the Ichobezi.
I think it is going to be very different from Kariba in the sense of vastness but we'll have to wait and see how the experience is.
Thanks
Mark

Guys
I won't be able to take pics this trip as I won't have the SLR with me but only my video camera so I will try my best to capture this on video to give you some idea of what this experience is all about.

Mark, that sounds great (tons of elephants, hippos and crocs for sure). Sounds amazing.

Have a great time, Michael

Thanks Mike.
Funny, Celeste is actually leaving for Sydney tonight, hence why have not got the SLR.
How you keeping?

Please give all the details when you return. This is something completely different and very enticing.

Does anyone know if they do something like this close to the Falls - This could be a nice alternative to staying at a lodge. The only one I've seen is 80km. away.

I will do my best to put it on video and of course my own report. I do at this stage beleive it is a worthwhile add on. But lets wait until I get back. Had lunch with Jaco on Friday and he says HI!

Hi Guys
If anyone is interested in a houseboat trip on Lake Kariba I have access to a 42 berth ship. Thats a total of 80 fodorites. How about a GTG on Lake Kariba.

Ha, yes if you can wait til July/August 08.
The only problem is that we'd all need to know ahead which rooms are best, can we reroute to be on the best side of the boat and how do we get the best deal. Also can we invite only those we like? Other than that it should be easy :)
