Solo traveler looking to join safari- mid July

I would like to join a safari between July 10 and July 18. My dates for departure and length of stay are flexible within this time frame. I'd prefer a Northern safari (Serengheti, crater, Lake Manyara, etc.) but at this point I am open to other parks as well. I am traveling alone, so I would like to keep costs down as much as possible. Are there any groups needing another travel companion?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance for the help!

travelzoo offering <i>"true 5-star experience"</i>

Nice lodging, but let's not get carried away whether it's by Travelzoo or qwovadis. Maybe 4* in NBO and 3* in the Mara.

Price though is good.

Sandi, do you have any recommendations for me? I'll be volunteering elsewhere in TZ and when I have free time (July 10-18) I'd like to do some exploring. I'm feeling that my options are limited because I'm on my own. Any help is much, much appreciated!

Where will you be volunteering in Tanzania? It's a big country? If in the south, there are parks down that way; if north, other parks up there.

You might want to post this query on the Lonely Planet/Thorn Tree or Trip Advisor Forums... more budget minded travelers on these.

I'll be down south volunteering, but I intend to travel north for safari. I posted this query on Lonely Planet & Trip Advisor. I'm also contacting safari companies. Fingers crossed!!

If you are volunteering, I would think the group that sets up the volunteers would be an excellent source of info and they probably have contacts and deals with local operators. You may find other volunteers with the same idea so you can form your own group.

One other suggestion, try 2Afrika in NYC. I never used them but notice how many group trip departures they have.

Your travel dates are great for a Tanzania safari!
