Has anyone travelled with them over the last year or so? Found a great 12 safari trip for Christmas/New Years. Price and itinerary seem reasonable. Would just like to know more about the tour company.

Did China with them in '97.

For the money, the trip was well worth it. But, at that time, they also offered fanastic upgrades to business class. We paid $1600.00 pp to upgrade to business class from Newark to Seoul on Korean Air.

But we had a blast on the trip.

I have read many good reviews about smarTours in ITN.

What is the approximate size of the groups?

What is ITN? I'd like to read reviews.

If you email/call them, they will send you a free copy. It is a travel magazine in black & white with articles, reviews and comments by the membership. That way you get direct from the travelers, their views on various travel organizations, tours, etc.

We did a trip to Vietnam, Siem Reap and Bangkok in November 2006 with SmarTours and were completely satisfied. There were 31 people on the tour and we never had to wait for anyone. People were friendly, considerate and pleasant. Most had taken numberous trips with SmarTours. We've booked their South African trip for this Ocober.

Went to South Africa with Smartours Nov.06 and was very satisfied. Excellent hotels, tour director, and game drives. Well organized. 39 of us and ages were mixed. Never felt crowded. Have friends who have traveled with them for years, many trips. Enjoy your safari and when you see what other tours are charging you will marvel that Smartours is such a vallue!! JKR
