Singita Boulders- recommendations on room/views

For those who have been to Singita Boulders - what room number do you recommend? I've seen from other posts that
Rooms 8 and 9 actually do not face the river but instead a watering hole?
I just wanted get peoples thoughts since we are staying there for our anniversary in June.
Thanks in advance.

Hi kinesin

It has been a while since I have been to Singita Boulders, but I have been happy with the room given and have never requested a room but have been either side of the lounge/dining area. In my memory, there is no river, just a dry river bed.

Kind regards,

Kaye

Hello,

I was at Boulders in July 2006 -- the only two rooms which do not face the river are, as you've already found, rooms 8 and 9.

If you're standing in the main lounge facing the river, room 2 is the first room on your left (past the pool) and room 1 is on the end. The gym and spa are on this side of the camp.

Room 3 is the first room on your right, followed by rooms 4-7 with 7 on the end. Behind them, facing away from the river, are rooms 8 and 9. Further to the right beyond room 7 are the new two-bedroom suites.

The rooms are quite spread out for maximum privacy, so if you don't like a long walk back you may prefer one of the ones closer to the main lounge.

Cheers,
Julian

Hello again,

Sorry, forgot to include a note about the river -- whether there is any water depends on the rains and when you travel. In June you should have a good chance of the river still flowing.

If you go to the Safari Photo Album you can see the river in the background of some of the photos of Singita Ebony, taken from the deck where meals are served.

The Boulders photos in the Photo Album are of Room 4.

Room 1 was great at Boulders. Lots of monkeys playing around our trees and pool. They love apples by the way. Have fun. You are truely spoiled when you stay at Singita. Ask for Keith and Barney for your trackers.
