SIM CARD and how to avoid getting lost in the Medina?

Everyone seems to get lost finding their hotel in Marrakesh's old Medina. Could be fun, and can also be frustrating.

So wondering how to best find my way around? Of course the hotel will provide a map, possibly with location markets. But will GPS work in the Medina? And would offline Google Map help me find my way to the hotel? Especially when it's dark? Do I have to always rely on guides or "friendly Moroccans" offer to help me?

And what SIM Card provider works best in Marrakesh and where in the airport can one find a SIM Card for the iPhone? What is the procedure for getting a SIM Card?

Thank you!!

All the satellite dishes face the same way. As you walk, keep looking back to remember the view you should see when you retrace your steps.

Yes GPS on a smartphone works in the medina, check out Google Maps offline files.
