Silly question on Uganda

I guess I haven't paid much attention to Uganda talk - do you need a visa to get into the country when you are booked for gorilla treks there?

Thanks in advance guys,
Lynda

Best to check the Uganda official tourism/embassy site for current info.

Visa and trekking tickets are separate matters. Whether a visa is required is dependent on your nationality. From Timatic:

" Visa Issuance:
- On arrival: if required, visa can be issued to all nationals against a fee:
- for a single entry: USD 50.-; or
- for a multiple entry: 6 months validity: USD 100.-; or
- for one year visa: USD 200.-."

EXCEPT for a couple of funky nationalities (Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq, Somalia) ALL nationalities can easily obtain a visa upon arrival in Uganda with a valid passport. Takes 1 minute and cosst 50 USD.

Go to the lonelyplanet travel thorne where this answer has been posted ad nauseum.

Thanks for the replies, I took Sandi's advise and did a google search for their official embassy site. Silly me for not thinking of that sooner! I just thought of the expertise on this board I guess...

Thanks everyone for the gerat info!
