Should we stay overnight in Dead Sea?

Our original plan was to use Amman as a home base and take a private taxi to the Dead Sea. We hate moving from hotel to hotel. However we've also read that it is beneficial to stay one night at a resort there because the salt water can feel nasty on the skin and it's nice to have a place to wash off. I also heard the spas at the resort are nice.

What would you recommend? Should we stay one night in the Dead Sea? Thanks for your input!

Most places that offer access to the Dead Sea also have showers right there when you get out of the water so you can rinse right off.
However, we LOVED the Movenpick Dead Sea Resort and the spa is incredible. You wouldn't have to pack everything....just bring enough for an overnight stay.

I agree, an overnight is lovely there. I stayed at the Kempinski but wish I'd stayed at the Movenpick, though I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the mud, beach and spa treatments. Sunsets can be stunning.

Hope this response isn't too late.
We stayed at the Movenpick in July. It was stunning! The property is so beautiful. It was about a 10 minute walk from our room to the beach area, although there is a golf cart to take to down to the last steps before you enter the Dead Sea area. There is a big pot of mud for you to use when you go down to the sea. It was fantastic. The food was plentiful and delicious. It was so relaxing and we are very glad we stayed there.

Hi rampup82,

I saw your previous post from a couple years back ( 5hr layover in Paris). Just wondering did you end up exploring the city? I have a 5 hour layover and not sure if I should risk it.
