Shavuot

Can someone clarify for me how the Shavuot holiday on June 12 and 13 will affect services and access in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (museum openings, public transportation, restaurants), etc? Do most workers have the 13th off and are schools closed?
Many thanks.

June 12th will be like Fridays in Israel: Public transportation will run till about 4PM, shops will close around 2PM. However, since it is a Sunday and Monday is a holiday, many businesses (not shops) will have what the Israelis refer as a "bridge" and will be closed. This is a way for the Israelis to have a 4 days vacation: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
June 13th is a full holiday. No public transportation (buses and trains), shops will be closed. Most restaurants will be open. Taxis are running on holidays as usual.
As for museums, each has its own policy.
Hope this helps.
