Sharm el-Sheikh or Dahab - Which would you choose?

I'm having a hard time deciding where to go between Sharm el-Sheikh or Dahab. Which would you choose and why?

Dahab in a heartbeat!! Sharm is too modernized, while Dahab has a much more exotic look and feel. Dahab was my favorite place in Egypt.

Hi rsidhu

I have the same dilema plus I am wondering about Hurghada. It all look so beautiful. I am not a diver but my boyfriend is. I want him to be able to go diving and snorkling and have an amazing experience in the red sea. Looking forward what others will recommend.
Thanks

Hurghada was my least favorite part of Egypt. That city is only about 40 years old and it looks too much like Cancun or Miami Beach. Nothing against Cancun or Miami, but it just didn't feel like I was in Egypt when I was in Hurghada. I stand by my recommendation for Dahab.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I'm looking for a beach area within Egypt that's got a sand beach, relatively calm waters, and good food/restaurants. We love to snorkel and will consider diving when we get there but it's not our biggest consideration. We're in our 30's so clubbing is not big on the agenda but we do like going out for a nightcap.

Hope that helps!
