Seychelles or Zanzibar?

Which one would be a better travel destination? We're looking for beauty, safety - and nightlife. Any information on both or either would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

traveled to seychelles (the island of praslin)
in beginning of may. check the weather before
going we had two tropical rain storms. the island is beautiful uninterrupted . the social activity
is somewhat limited, however there is one casino.
we stayed at the Coco de Mer, a four star outfit
that should have been rated three. If you like to
explore by bicycle-this seemed to be the best in
order to see the isolated beaches. It is a place for
two honeymooners-who don't wan't people around.

my week in zanz was the best i've had anywhere - i'm a travel writer so i'm choosy. fantastic culture, gorgeous beaches with floury white sand, interesting people. lots to explore, and rock-bottom prices. if you go, emerson's house is a great hotel - they have a net site.
fyi - if you're looking for first class experience, this prob. isn't it - still underdeveloped by american standards.

We spent 4 days in Zanzibar in Jan. 96.
Beauty: Absolutely. Great beaches, charming old town w/narrow winding streets, dhows on gulf. Mr. Mitu's spice tour showed us about 50 spice, fruit and medicine plants, and ruins of last Emir's palace.
Safety: By African standards, high. We felt safer there than anywhere else in Africa. We walked from our guesthouse (the Malindi, thumbs up) - at night - to the central park on the water, where people come each night to get cheap, yummy Indian and African food. I fell in love with Tamarind juice.
Nightlife: Well, not really. The east coast beach hotels probably had things going on. But it is basically a small Moslem town (but so is Seychelles). You can find other western tourists in the park each night and party with them, or on the beaches.
