Serengeti in Nat. Geographic

Another FYI - An article on the Serengeti in the Feb. National Geographic. Also a short sidebar on the Amboseli situation.

Thanks, cooncat. And thanks for the Joan Root news--terrible, and I didn't really want to comment. A bit like Aby's info re: famine as result of drought in East Africa currently. A lot to think about...

But, yes, my Africa travel buddy told me she read this article, so I can't wait to see it.

A great article.
As always it emphasizes the mixed blessing of tourism.

by the way, this article wouldn't have meant nearly as much to me before October 2005

Iíve got it! Itís an excellent multi-angle article, but a bit too short. Everyone should read it.
