Serengeti Highway suspended?!
 

Seems there was an announcement on Tanzanian television that the highway has been suspended;

"We have had news from Tanzania that today (saturday) a statement was made on the govt-run TV channel that plans to build the Serengeti Highway have been suspended. Please note that this is early and unconfirmed information. We are working hard to confirm, one way or the other, and will post what we learn as soon as possible."

up till now no confirmation has been found yet, but this seems like good news!
Anyone on this forum who knows more by any chance?

If so--and not that I doubt your posting, just how things will actually shake out--that would be great news. Anyone who voiced opposition can take credit.

Damn, they just posted that it was a miscommunication and it isnt true. :(
