Sardine run

Only started doing research on a possible trip to Africa. I would like to see what the sardine run is all about but it is in the Transkei region which I read on here is not advisable for travel. Is Port Edward to far north for the sardine run?

If you haven't already found it, go to the Natal Sharks Board website at www.shark.co.za, and click on "Where are the Sardines" near the bottom. If you go to the News page, you'l see that this year the run didn't come inshore at the KZN coast as usual, probably because of the water being too warm this year. The site is also a good one (obviously!) for shark info. And if you are near Umhlanga Rocks (the northern edge of Durban), the show they do is worth a visit.
