Sand storms in Egypt

I have heard many conflicting times that sand storms take place in Egypt. A travel agent has told me not to travel to Egypt during March through April to avoid sand storms. Fodors on the other hand says that May is the time for sand storms. What is the true story?

Just spent 14 days of March in Egypt -Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and saw no sand storms. Weather was great.

I lived in Cairo for 3 years. I never had a problem with sand storms. I visited Luxor and Aswan in May and had no problem.

We did have to dust every day because of the sand in the air, but don't worry about it.

Went to the Red Sea last year in May and had terrible sandstorms. Really very unpleasant.
Were at the Nile in March 97 and no sandstorms at all.
