Safety in Turkey

I'm planning a trip to Turkey this spring but the US State Dept. still has their "defer non-essential travel" warning posted. Anybody have any thoughts/experience in Turkey since the recent synagogue bombings in Istanbul?

Go - you'll have a wonderful time in a fascinating country, a wealth of history, with warm and welcoming people.

The State Dept warnings are in effect just in case something does happen, they won't be held responsible for not having advised its' citizens. Remember PanAm 103, the government didn't warn people - so now they warn for ingrown toes nails.

"Non essential" travel - it's your vacation, of course, "it's essential."

People are still traveling to Turkey and getting pretty good deals. Go for it!
