re: Double or/means twin?
Hello,
For those of you who were in Egypt, I hope you can help me.
I just read a guidebook that said it was impossible to get a double bed or king size bed in four or five star hotels and that it was mostly two single beds. is this true? Should I call the hotel and specify beforehand that I would like double bed (one bed for two people?)

Agree, get another guidebook.
If you want a double, queen or king, just ask. It's possible some hotels will have kings, but not queens, but you can certainly get other than twin beds.
In many tour brochures they indicate run-of-the-house (standard) rooms with twin beds only, but if you wish a double or larger, you can be accommodated. To be sure, we've simply advised that it was our honeymoon - have had lots over the years.
