Safari pricing- Tanzania and Kenya
I discovered this site a few months ago, and I’ve found it very informative, but this is my first posting.
I started to plan a Kenya/Tanzania (“classic”) safari for the family last year, but, to make a very long story short, it didn’t happen. So, now I’m thinking early 2006. I looked over a few of the quotes we received to re-familiarize myself with what was available, and I find that there was a significant price difference, for ‘exactly’ the same safari itinerary, from what I characterize as two groups of operators: the US/UK based and the Local (i.e., African) based operators.
My experience is similar to that posted by Rocco on: 12/03/2003

Finally, my question to Fodor’s forum users: Is this price difference strictly markup to cover US/UK overhead, etc., or are there quality differences in the safari experience?
