SAA Question on First Class....

Does anyone know if SAA is an airline that offers passengers to pay a fee to be bumped up to first class if there are empty seats?

napamatt Mar 14th, 2006 07:03 AM

Most do, though in my experience empty seats are few and far between, and usually passengers with business tickets (paid for) or frequent flyers will get priority.

HI...........WE ASKED SAA THAT QUESTION AND THEIR REPLY WAS...NO THEY DO NOT UPGRADE FOR A FEE IF THER ARE EMPTY SEATS....I THOUGHT IT SEEMS A LITTLE STRANGE THAT THEY WOULD LET THOSE VALUABLE SEAT GO EMPTY...BUT IT'S NOT MY AIRLINE.

They probably upgrade their frequent flyers as napamatt suggests. Couldn't hurt to call ahead, though.

They'd also upgrade anybody flying in full-fare Y before the hoi polloi.
