SA itinerary done looking for hotel suggestions
We finally have our Sout African itinerary in place. We will fly from Joburg to Cape Town and stay there 3 or four days. Then drive to Stellenbosch for two nights and on to Knysna for three nights. We will drive to Port elizabeth for one night and then fly to Richards bay for our safari. I am looking for hotel suggestions. We like guest houses and we don't want to spend more than $125 per night for both of us.
Please help!

In Stellenbosch D'Ouwe Werf Country Inn is South Africa's oldest Inn and a great place to stay it is four star and rather expensive.
For Knysna Cape Explorers Lodge is a good option midway between the town and the heads with views of the lagoon and very reasonably priced. www.capeexplorerslodge.co.za
For Port Elizabeth Fifth Avenue Beach House is a good option located 50 metres from Hobie Beach ask for one of the rooms overlooking the swimming pool www.eastcapetours.comFifth Ave/index.htm
The three balanced together should alow you to meet your budget

GayleY,
OOPS Something went wrong with the sending of my last mail to this thread.
My suggestion to you would be to stay at the following places:
Cape Town
==========
Avanti.
------
www.avanti.co.za
Tried and tested ranking amongst the best value for money in Cape Town.
HIGHLY recommended.
Redbourne Hilldrop
------------------
http://www.redbourne.co.za/
Great venue. Very well appointed. Friendly staff and hosts. In upper part of Cape Town meaning that you will need a car to get around or otherwise you could quite comfortably use taxis. In actual fact the venue is a short taxi or bus ride away from all. Away from all the action yet close to it. Excellent prices and great value for money.
Davids

Wonderful venue with fantastic hosts. Close to city as well as the Green Point strip where there are many restaurants. Well appointed and has to be amongst the best value in Cape Town. Highly recommended.
Stellenbosch
============
The Avenues
-----------
http://www.sun.ac.za/unesco/Conferen...on/Avenues.htm
Reasonably well positioned guesthouse that is safe and clean and represents good value for money.
Roosenwijn Guesthouse
---------------------
http://www.stellenguest.co.za/about.html
Superbly positioned guesthouse with a delightful host. Very reasonably priced.
Knysna
======
Look no further than Overmeer guesthouse
http://www.overmeergh.co.za/
where they are having a "Knysna on sale" month and you should be able to obtain a rate of about R300/person for a wonderful lagoon facing room.
Port Elizabeth
--------------
I suggest that you stay at Lemon Tree Lane. http://www.lemontreelane.co.za/
Lovely guesthouse that is spotlessly clean and well run by an excellent host.
Top class accommodation. Btw I am putting my money where my mouth is as I am writing this mail from Lemon Tree Lane where I am staying right now with my visitors.
